WEED CLEARANCE SAFETY NOTES
- When working on bank beware of ill-defined edges; step warily. Work in pairs.
- Avoid heavy lifting- do not lift too much at once, weed or boats.
- When working with rakes and cromes look out for people behind you. Do not stand behind people who are using them.
- Boaters: use buoyancy aids, beware of any propellers, don't ram the bank, launch and retrieve boats/canoes in pairs.
- Weils Disease: wear protective gloves, cover any open cuts with water proof plaster, wash hands as soon as possible at end of session, report any subsequent flu like symptoms to doctor
- Safety Equipment and emergencies: life belts will be placed along the bank of the worked stretch. A first aid kit and mobile phone will be available.
- Wear strong non-slip water proof shoes or boots, and water proof trousers if you have them. Additional warm clothing and a water proof top is advisable.
